Breakfast Brulee Recipe: A Delicious and Indulgent Start to your day

Image of breakfast brulee

We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but it doesn’t need to be the most boring meal of the day!

It’s not always easy to come up with fun new ways to incorporate the key nutrients needed to kick start your day, into one quick and easy meal. You may find yourself in a routine of continuously making the same mundane breakfast options over and over again! Or worst yet, skipping breakfast altogether. Sound familiar? Repeat after us, coffee is not breakfast!

If this sounds like you, then do we have something special to share with you! Our friends over at Pave Café, situated on the Parade in Adelaide, have a scrumptious breakfast/brunch menu featuring fresh, local and seasonal produce that’s continuously rotating. You’ll never find yourself wanting for options when dining at Pave

We sat down with Pave Café a few weeks ago to discuss their philosophy around using fresh, high-quality, local produce across their delicious menu. They pride themselves on using products such as Paris Creek Farms Bio-Dynamic Organic Cream on Top Milk and Paris Creek Farms Organic Bush Honey and Vanilla Yogurt, as well as Barossa Bacon, local bakery goods and Care Valley free range eggs.

Pave’s breakfast recipe of the month ‘Breakfast Brulee’ caught our eye and they were kind enough to share it with us, so next time you’re stuck for breakfast inspiration, give this recipe a go!

Breakfast Brulee

INGREDIENTS:

1x cup of homemade/store bought Granola

½ cup of berry compote

½ cup of Paris Creek Farms Bush Honey and Vanilla Yogurt

Berry Compote Ingredients:

500g frozen mixed berries

Squeeze of lemon juice

1 tbs maple syrup or your choice of sweetener

METHOD:

Berry Compote: To make your compote, simply add 500g of frozen or fresh mixed berries to a saucepan over a low-medium heat. Add lemon juice and simmer until berries are soft and starting to become saucy. Lightly squish with a fork while cooking to bring out all the lovely berry juices! Once bubbling add your maple syrup or sweetener of choice and remove from heat. Store in a jar or container in the fridge, ready for breakfast in the mornings.

Assembly: In a bowl add your granola, top with berry compote and then cover with Paris Creek Farms Bush Honey and Vanilla Yogurt.

Feeling fancy? To add that special brulee touch, carefully blow torch the top slightly to caramelize the yogurt… (of course, if you don’t happen to have a blow torch lying around at home, this step isn’t essential).

Bon Appetite!

Pave is open from Tuesday – Sunday 7:30am – 3:00pm, 138b The Parade, Norwood SA 5067
